We comply with the Accessible Canada Act and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
If you encounter a barrier, contact us and we will address it promptly.
We test with keyboard navigation, screen readers and automated tools.
1. Commitment
Seideldexa Inc. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to our website at seideldexa.com.
This commitment extends to all public-facing pages across both English and French versions of our site. We view accessibility not as a compliance checkbox but as a fundamental requirement for responsible journalism: our content should be available to every reader, regardless of ability.
2. Standards
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning and neurological disabilities.
We also comply with the obligations set out in the following Canadian legislation:
The Accessible Canada Act (S.C. 2019, c. 10), which requires federally regulated organizations to identify, remove and prevent barriers to accessibility.
The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), including the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (Ontario Regulation 191/11), which sets out accessibility requirements for websites of organizations operating in Ontario.
3. Measures taken
Seideldexa has taken the following measures to ensure accessibility of this website:
Semantic HTML: All pages use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer), lists, tables and form labels.
Keyboard navigation: Every interactive element is reachable and operable via keyboard. A visible focus indicator appears on all focusable elements. The mobile menu can be opened and closed with keyboard, and the Escape key returns focus to the trigger button.
Skip link: A "Skip to content" link appears at the top of every page, allowing keyboard users to bypass navigation.
Colour contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds in both light and dark modes.
Alternative text: All meaningful images carry descriptive alt attributes of eight to twenty words. Decorative elements are marked appropriately.
Responsive design: The site functions at viewport widths from 320 pixels upward, with no horizontal scrolling.
Reduced motion: Users who set prefers-reduced-motion: reduce in their operating system see no animations.
Touch targets: Interactive elements have a minimum tap area of 44 by 44 pixels.
No auto-play: No media plays automatically. No content flashes more than three times per second.
4. Known limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, the following limitations are currently known:
Placeholder images used during initial site deployment are abstract and carry descriptive alt text, but do not depict the actual scenes described. These will be replaced with photographs that match their alt descriptions.
Some long compound terms in French content may not hyphenate correctly in all browsers on narrow screens.
We are actively working to resolve these issues. If you discover additional barriers, please let us know using the contact information below.
5. Feedback and contact
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of seideldexa.com. If you encounter any barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:
